A central highlight of the event was the official launch of the Cycle Logistics Barometer 2025 report, with high-profile attendance from figures like the Belgian Federal Minister for Mobility, Climate, and Ecological Transition, Jean-Luc Crucke.
The core focus of the event and its accompanying barometer report was celebrating the explosive growth and professionalization of the sector, which saw a staggering 70% increase in bicycle-delivered parcels (reaching 5.2 million) year-over-year. Discussions centered on the operational shift of cargo bikes from a niche solution to an urban necessity—particularly in Brussels, which handles 57% of the nation’s bicycle deliveries. While celebrating a perfect safety record of zero fatal incidents over millions of kilometers traveled, the event underscored key challenges for 2026, such as the need for heavier-duty, professional-grade equipment and enhanced infrastructure to successfully replace 33% of professional urban deliveries as targeted by the “Route33” initiative.
